BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 7
By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:
Georgian authorities expect to solve problems associated with land registration in the next three years, Trend reports citing Georgian media outlets.
The Ministry of Justice of Georgia has already developed the concept of systematic and sporadic registration of land plots.
With a systematic approach, all land plots in a particular area are simultaneously recorded in the cadastral book, and with a sporadic approach, registration is carried out upon request.
“This initiative over the course of three years should contribute to solving this problem completely. On the one hand, this is extremely important for each of our citizens, especially villagers, as well as for those who own land in villages. On the other hand, it is critically important for our economy because land is one of the most important resources," said Prime Minister Georgi Gakharia.
According to him, issues related to land reform were the main topics of discussion during the visits of deputies and ministers to the regions.
In August 2019, the land registration procedure was simplified as part of the reform. During this time, a total of more than 300,000 hectares of land were registered.
