Uzbekistan signs $74 M contract with Korean Eximbank

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 11

South Korean Eximbank will equip a number of Uzbekistan’s regional medical institutions with medical equipment for a total of $74 million, Trend reports citing the press service of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.

Representatives of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health and the delegation of Eximbank signed a Protocol on cooperation in the framework of this project at a meeting at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.

The main objective of the project is modernization of more than 150 medical institutions in Uzbekistan’s regions, mainly in remote and rural areas with modern high-tech equipment, auxiliary medical materials and tools to improve the quality of services of the national health system.

During the meeting, the parties noted the high level of interest of the business circles of both countries in the development of bilateral cooperation; in particular, the agreements reached during the state visit of South Korean President Moon Jae-In to Uzbekistan were discussed.

Following the meeting, further practical actions to implement the agreements reached were also considered.

Export-Import Bank of Korea is an official export credit agency. The Bank provides export credit and guarantee programs to support Korean enterprises in conducting overseas business and offers products and services including trade finance, overseas investment credit, natural resources development credit, import credit and information services.
