Iran's fire bricks production meets the domestic demand, Chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Iran's Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province Sajjad Rustami said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The annual output of fire bricks has reached 28,000 tons in the province, Rustami said.

Iran's fire brick output meets the domestic demand and thanks to this, the country saves 30 million euros annually, according to the chairman.

In line with the program, now Iran exports these products to Azerbaijan and Turkey, though the country used to import them earlier from Austria and Germany, Rustami said.

Mehrgodaz Refractories was established in 1997 in Sefid-Dasht Industrial Zone of Iran's Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province. Certain upgrading has been done in the company's production plant over time, which allowed to increase the production capacity of the fire brick plant of Mehrgodaz Refactories Company up to 30,000 tons per year, Rustami noted.

This Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), Mehrgodaz Refactories Company has produced magnesium carbonate as well, Rustami noted.

Rustami added that the magnesium carbonate produced by the company can meet the demand of Iran's steel industry for 15 years.

Iran has five operational fire brick producing plants: in Chajarmahal and Bakhtiari, Soouth Khorasan, Isfahan, East Azerbaijan and Yazd provinces.

According to Rustami, the fire bricks produced in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province are the best in terms of quality in the Middle East.
