Export of Iranian goods exceeds $50B

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 14

By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

The export of the Iranian goods exceeded $50 billion from March 21 through October 22 of this year, Iranian Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, Director General of the Iranian Customs Administration Mehdi Mirashrafi said.

Mirashrafi made the remark at the 34th meeting of the Public-Private Dialogue Council in Iran’s western Kurdistan province, Trend reports referring to Tasnim news agency.

“Some 100 million tons of products were exported,” the deputy minister said. “The markets of Iraq and Syria have the biggest potential, which Iran must fully use.”

“Iran must help its businessmen by creating favorable conditions for operating in the markets of Syria and Iraq,” Mirashrafi said.

The deputy minister stressed that Iran’s air and sea borders are mainly affected by the US sanctions and, thus, land borders play a key role in this difficult situation.

The US imposed the sanctions against Iran in November 2018 and expanded its list in several stages.
