Iranian carmaker Irankhodro can produce up to 25,000 compressor trucks a year, Irankhodro Executive Director Farshad Moghimi said, Trend reports citing Tasnim News Agency.
Moghimi made the remarks at the ceremony for the signing of agreement between Irankhodro and Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters, which is an Iranian engineering firm controlled by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, on the supply 150 compressors to Khatam al-Anbiya.
Irankhodro is producing compressor trucks at the expense of the domestic potential, Irankhodro executive director said.
Since January 2019, a project for the production of 87 automotive parts has been launched in Iran, Moghimi noted, adding that so far, mass production of 37 of them has already started.
Up to now, Iran saved 33 million euros thanks to the production of these spare parts, he said.
The director noted that the agreement envisages several stages of supply and the number of supplied compressors may reach 700 in later stages.
Moghimi added that Irankhodro will supply 20 compressors to Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters in the upcoming month.
The director further noted that 90 percent of the production of Iran's automotive industry is manufactured domestically and necessary measures should be taken to bring this number to 100 percent.
Talks are underway with National Iranian Petrochemical Company on the production of raw materials for automotive industry, he added.
