Gasoline rationing does not affect Iran's housing prices

TEHRAN, Iran, Nov.18

Trend:

Gasoline rationing has not led to increase in the housing prices, and private and public sectors can not increase the rate of transportation either, said Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development.

"This measure does not have any effect on housing prices, and the monitoring organizations will confront any increase of prices," said Mohammad Ali Eslami, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The relevant organizations have conducted the necessary supervision; neither the private nor the public sector is allowed to increase the price of transporting goods on the pretext of gasoline price rise," the minister said.

"The revenues from gasoline rationing will be generally provided to low income families," he added.

"The renovation of transportation fleet will be provided by National Development Fund, as our efforts aim to use domestic production capacities and activate factories," Eslami said.

The minister has emphasized that the fuel price for airplanes will not increase.
