Output of 8 mining materials increases in Iran

In the first six months (March 21 - Sept.22, 2019) of the current Iranian year, Iran's output of eight main mining materials increased in the range of 5.2 - 22 percent, compared to the same period last year, reads the relevant report of Iran's Industry, Mine and Trade Ministry, Trend reports via ISNA.

The report covered output of 12 mining materials.

According to the report, crude steel production increased by 6.6 percent in the reported six-month period and amounted to over 12 million tons. For comparison, 11.3 million tons of steel was produced in the same period last year.

The report said that output of steel products increased by 6.9 percent to 10.5 million tonnes, compared to same period of the last Iranian year (9.9 million tons).

According to the report, the production of copper cathode in the reported six-month period was about 134,000 tons, which indicates about 15.9 percent increase compared to the same period of last year. For comparison, in the same period of the last Iranian year, copper cathode output was 115,000 tons.

During the reported period, Iran produced 31.1 million tons of cement (5.2 percent increase), 547,000 tons of large size glass (18.4 percent increase), 28,000 tons of porcelain (22 percent increase), 266,000 tons of glass containers (16.6 percent increase), 54,000 tons of chinaware sanitary (14.7 percent increase).

The report noted that decrease was observed in the production of aluminum bullion (33.2 percent), aluminum dioxide (4.8 percent), iron ore (4.6 percent) and coal concentrate (4.9 percent).

According to the report, the output of aluminum dioxide amounted to 116,000 tons (122,000 tons in same period last year), iron ore - 17.4 million tons (18.2 million tons in same period last year), coal concentrate - 786,000 tons (827,000 tons in same period last year).

Moreover, the aluminum bullion production amounted to 123,000 tons, which was 184,000 tons in the same period last year.
