Iran-Azerbaijan trade turnover to double

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 10

The trade turnover between Iran and Azerbaijan is projected to increase by 100 percent this Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, through March 21, 2020), Secretary General of the Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Chamber of Commerce from the Iranian side Hussein Vosuqi Irani told Trend.

“The goods worth $380 million were exported from Iran to Azerbaijan from March 21 through November 21,” the secretary general added.

"Among the goods exported by Iran were building materials, food products, fruits and vegetables, rubber materials and petrochemicals," Vosuqi Irani said.

“Iran has exported about 400-500 kinds of products to Azerbaijan,” the secretary general added.

Vosuqi Irani said that Iran mainly imported fodder, soya beans and some agricultural products from Azerbaijan.

“Iran invests in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan invests in Iran,” the secretary general said.

“Iran made investments in the field of machine building, pharmaceutics and new technologies in Azerbaijan,” Vosuqi Irani said.

The secretary general also said that Azerbaijani investors made investments in various sectors in a number of Iranian provinces.

"In the coming months, the two countries may exchange car parts, industrial equipment and industrial equipment for food production," Vosuqi Irani said.

According to the report of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization, last Iranian year (from March 21, 2018, through March 21, 2019), Iran exported goods worth $411 million to Azerbaijan and imported the goods worth $26 million.
