Wine production to grow in Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 13

By Matanat Nasibova-Trend:

The largest producer of alcoholic beverages in Azerbaijan, the Jalilabad-2 winery, located in the Jalilabad district of the country, will launch two new wine production lines in February next year, a source at the winery told Trend.

The enterprise will manufacture dry and semi-dry wines, according to the report.

“We expect to increase the production volume through new lines,” the source said. “About 18,000 bottles of wine products are produced daily at the plant. After the introduction of the new line, this figure will exceed 25,000 bottles daily. Moreover, over 11 months of this year, the factory produced over 185,000 decaliters of wine, which is 10-12 percent more compared to last year's reporting period indicators. Currently, the plant produces over 12 types of alcoholic beverages, including cognac alcohol.”

The source also noted that the company plans to significantly increase the manufacture of its products from next year by using new modern equipment produced abroad.

“We plan to increase the manufacture of vodka products,” the source said. “New equipment and technical filters have already been installed for this. Furthermore, we expect to increase the quality of our products, which are intended for sale both on the domestic market and for export.”

The plant’s products have a certificate of conformity issued by Azerbaijani State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents.

The company uses Italian and Bulgarian equipment.
