The Baku Textile Factory (BTF) is increasing production potential, the BTF Director Sakina Babayeva told Trend.

Babayeva noted that first of all, this is aimed at increasing the export of textile products from Azerbaijan.

“We plan to increase production and export of textiles after the new textile factory building is commissioned in the Binagadi district of Baku,” the director said. “The construction of a new three-story BTF building will be completed in February next year.”

Babayeva noted that in the future, it is planned to introduce new production lines at the factory.

“We plan to expand export capabilities of the factory, enter new foreign markets,” the director said. “We will export textiles to the CIS countries, as well as Arab countries.”

Presently, 300 people work at the BTF and the factory uses seven production lines.

The factory has been operating since 1939. It was the first factory in the South Caucasus in the field of textile industry.

Presently, the factory operates according to the European standards. The BTF has been provided with the latest German and Japanese equipment and technologies.

The factory produces daily clothes, evening dresses, corporate, children's, sports and medical clothes, as well as overalls, school uniforms and all kinds of workwear.
