A small facility for processing livestock products has opened in Azerbaijan’s Goranboy district, Head of Azerbaijan’s Association of Women Entrepreneurs Sakina Babayeva told Trend.
“The small facility will start operating from the beginning of next year,” Babayeva said. “Similar facilities for washing and cleaning sheep’s wool and hides are planned to be created in several regions.”
In particular, at the beginning of next year, there are plans to open one facility in Tovuz, and in the second half of 2020, in the Imishli and Bilasuvar districts, the head of Azerbaijan’s Association of Women Entrepreneurs noted.
This step is aimed at arranging the export of processed livestock products, and Turkey is considered as a potential market, Babayeva said.
The head of the association noted that in the future, there are plans to open such facilities in the Azerbaijani regions through the association and with direct support from the state.
“In total, wool processing facilities are planned to be created in ten Azerbaijani districts,” Babayeva added.
According to the statistics, over 143,000 women are involved in business activities in Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani Association of Women Entrepreneurs was established in October 2017 through the support of Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.
