Hand-made carpets worth more than $200,000 were exported from Iran’s Markazi province this Iranian year (beginning on March 21, 2019), Deputy Chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of the province Jafar Asghari said.

The carpets were mainly exported to the US, Kuwait, France and the Netherlands,” Asghari added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

“Over 15,000 square meters of carpets were woven in the province this Iranian year,” the deputy chairman said.

As for the issuance of loans for the carpet weaving industry, the loans worth 100 million rials (about $2,380) are envisaged for those weaving carpets at home while 700 million rials ($16,600) for carpet weaving workshops, Asghari noted.

Some 174 people will get the loans from banks, he said.

The documents were issued for 421 people in the province this year. These documents testify that these individuals are indeed involved in carpet weaving. In total, more than 44,000 people were provided with these documents. The carpets of 11,000 carpet weavers were insured.
