A travel agency has opened in Azerbaijan’s Tovuz district as part of a project which is being implemented in Azerbaijan through the financial support from the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), Head of Azerbaijan’s Association of Women Entrepreneurs Sakina Babayeva told Trend.
"The opening of this agency contributed to the creation of over 20 job spots,” the head of the association added. “As part of a joint project worth 120,000 manat ($70,588), small enterprises are planned to open in several districts of the country. The project is funded by SECO and Azerbaijan’s Association of Women Entrepreneurs.”
“The biggest volume of investments worth 70,000 manat ($41,176) accounts for SECO, while the remaining 50,000 manat ($29,411) - for the Association,” Babayeva said. “The project contributed to the creation of 20 job places in the new enterprise. Similar small enterprises will open next year in other districts of the country as part of this project."
“The project is aimed at supporting the development of women's entrepreneurship in the districts,” Babayeva added.
According to the statistics, over 143,000 women are involved in business activities in Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani Association of Women Entrepreneurs was established in October 2017 through the support of Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.
