Kazakhstan's fertilizers plant produces goods worth $375M

Value of processing industry of Kazakhstan’s Zhambyl region amounted to 319.5 billion tenge ($843.8 million), which is 7 percent more than during the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Kazakhstan’s prime minister.

The information was disclosed during the meeting of Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Askar Mamin to the region.

The value of investments into the region’s fixed capital amounted to 250.1 billion tenge ($660.5 million), which also is 10.5 percent more than during the same period of last year. Some 66 investment projects worth 2.7 trillion tenge ($7.1 billion) have also been selected in the region for implementation in 2020-2025.

Within the framework of the visit, Mamin got informed on the project of construction of Zhanatas wind park worth 50 billion tenge ($132 million). The Phase 1 capacity of the plant will be 100 MW, whereas Phase 2 capacity will be 200 MW. Currently some 19 wind generators have been installed and the number will be increased to 40 generators in 1H2020.

Mamin also was informed on preparations to construction of a soda ash plant of Qazaqsoda company in 2020-2022. The value of investments into the projects of Turkish Yildirim Group amounted to 127 billion tenge ($335.4 million). The venture’s capacity on the Phase 1 will be 400,000 tons of goods a year with prospective increase to 1 million tons a year.

Mamin also visited one of the leading ventures of the region: Kazphosphate mineral fertilizers manufacturing plant. The plant has manufactured goods worth 142 billion tenge ($375 million) since the beginning of the year, which for the most part was sold within the country and was partially exported Russia, China, US, Germany and UAE.

Mamin also participated in the opening ceremony of the third production line of Saule confectionery factory, which will allow to create 70 new jobs.
