Volume, value of goods transit in Iran’s Kordestan province revealed

As many as 732,000 tons of goods were transited via the Bashmaq customs in Iran’s Kordestan province in nine months (March 21-Dec. 21) of this Iranian year (began March 21, 2019), said Bakhtiyar Rahmanipour, director general of Kordestan customs administration, Trend reports via IRNA.

Rahmanipour noted that the cost of the transited goods is $2.6 billion.

The director general added that the Bashmaq customs ranked second in terms of transit among 57 customs in Iran.

In total, the volume of internal and external transit through the Bashmaq customs amounted to 1 million tons and the value totaled $3.5 billion in nine months, Rahmanipour said.

“Goods transited through the Bashmaq customs decreased by 15 percent in weight compared to the same period last year and increased by 86 percent in value,” the director general noted.

Iran’s Bashmaq customs is one of the main customs between Iran and Iraq.
