Turkey's export of citruses to Azerbaijan increases

Turkey’s export of citrus fruits to Azerbaijan increased by 43 percent from January through December 2019 compared to the same period of 2018, amounting to 20,055 tons, which is 1 percent of country’s total citruses export, Turkey’s Association of Fresh Vegetables and Fruits Exporters told Trend on Jan. 22.

Revenues of Turkey from export of citruses to Azerbaijan dropped by 37 percent amounting to $7.7 million, which is 1 percent of country’s total revenues from citruses export.

In 2019, export of Turkey’s fruit and vegetables dropped by 11 percent compared to 2018, exceeding 4 million tons.

So, country’s revenues from export of fruit and vegetables dropped by 3 percent, and amounted to $2.2 billion.

During 2019, Turkey exported 1.1 million tons of fruit, which is 5 percent more compared to 2018. In turn, country’s revenues from export of fruit increased by 2 percent and amounted to $846 million.

Meanwhile, export of vegetables from Turkey dropped by 2 percent, amounting to 1.2 million tons worth $645 million.

Turkey exported 1.6 million tons of citrus fruits worth $756 million in 2019, which is 20 percent less compared to 2018.
