India develops co-op with Uzbekistan in different areas

Tashkent Mayor's Office Jahongir Artikhodjaev held a meeting with a delegation led by India's Ambassador to Uzbekistan Santosh Jha, during which the sides discussed ongoing joint projects and prospects for further cooperation between the two countries, Trend reports with reference to Tashkent City Hall.

Uzbekistan and India are interested in further development of bilateral cooperation in such areas as the organization of IT-parks, education, healthcare, tourism and others, the message said.

It has been noted that joint projects worth over $650 million are being implemented currently in Uzbekistan, and 154 enterprises with the share of Indian entrepreneurs operating in the capital.

Recently, an area was allocated for Indian companies to construct buildings of hospital, university, water park and a number of other facilities. The total cost of the project exceeds $1 billion.

India's Ambassador to Uzbekistan said that the forthcoming first Tashkent International Investment Forum on March 5-6, 2020 will be attended by representatives of major companies from Gujarat and Haryana states, as well as by delegations from the Federation of Indian Enterprises and Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, the message said.

Santosh Jha also put forward a number of proposals to increase the flow of Indian tourists to Uzbekistan.
