Turkmenistan launches cheese production

A livestock complex in S.A.Niyazov district in Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz region has begun to produce Paytagt cheese (45 percent fat content), Trend reports referring to Neutral Turkmenistan.

There are 500 heads of cattle in the territory of the complex. Some 2,000 tons of milk and 120 tons of meat are annually processed. The complex includes an enterprise processing meat and various types of sausages, as well as a dairy workshop, which produces pasteurized milk, milk drinks, yogurt, sour cream, butter, cottage cheese and feta cheese.

The equipment allows the production of 17 types of dairy products and seven types of meat products.

The country envisages implementation of 81 projects as part of the program for the production of import-substituting products. The construction, chemical and other production facilities based on local raw materials will be built within the program.

The facilities processing and producing various types of meat and dairy products, fruits and vegetables, as well as fish products are being built.

There are plans to implement 33 projects as part of the program to increase export volumes of products which are manufactured in Turkmenistan.

This includes creation of new facilities aimed at the development of the chemical industry, light industry, machine engineering, agriculture and food industry, as well as domestic pharmaceutics.
