Export Price Index decreases in Georgia

The Export Price Index (XPI) decreased by 1.3 percent in January 2020 compared to December 2019 in Georgia, Trend reports with reference to Georgian National Statistical Service (Geostat).

There was a 1.7 percent decrease in the prices for manufactured products.

In January 2020, the XPI increased by 11.7 percent compared to January 2019. In the reporting period, prices increased for manufactured products by 9 percent and for products from mining and quarrying by 32.9 percent.

The Import Price Index (MPI) decreased by 0.6 percent compared to December 2019, while compared to January 2019 the MPI increased by 9.1 percent, said the committee.

Compared to January 2019, the prices were 9.5 percent higher for manufactured products, while for products from mining and quarrying a price increase of 5.6 percent was recorded. With regard to electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, the prices were 6.1 percent lower in January 2020.

The Domestic Producer Price Index for Industrial Products (DPPI) decreased by 0.2 percent in January 2020 compared to December 2019, while the prices for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning decreased by 2.9 percent.

Compared to January 2019, the DPPI increased by 4.6 percent. The prices went up for mining and quarrying products by 15.4, for manufactured products by 4.7 percent and for products from electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 7.4 percent.
