Startup companies operating in the Markazi Province of Iran exported $1.5 million worth of products during last Iranian year (March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), said Deputy Director of Iran's Markazi province Arak Science and Technology Park (ASTP) Mohammad Karimaddini Makkiabadi, Trend reports citing IRNA.
According to Karimaddini Makkiabadi, these startup and technology products were exported to various countries.
The deputy director added that about 116 startups and technology companies operated in the Markazi Province in the year before last (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019), and their number increased by 75 companies last Iranian year.
The official said that the Markazi province ranks 8th in Iran in terms of the number of science and technology companies.
Eighteen startup companies operate in other science and technology parks of the province, he added.
"More 30 billion rials [about $714,000] in loans were provided to 100 technology and startup companies in the Markazi Province last year. This was also an important step in protecting employment rates," he said.
