Volume of loaded, unloaded cargo via Caspian port of Iran announced

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12

As many as 117 ships have been loaded and unloaded via the Caspian port of Anzali Free Zone at Gilan province in northern Iran since the beginning of the current year (starting March 20, 2020), Member of the Board of Directors of Anzali Trade -Industrial Freezone Organization, Amin Ofoghi told Trend.

According to Ofoghi, however, 20 ships docked at the port last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).

Ofoghi added that about 250,000 tons of raw materials were imported to supply the country's production facilities. Grain, oil, livestock, car tires, food and chemicals, wood materials are the main imported products.

The official said that about 22,000 tons of oil products, foodstuffs, handicraft products, construction materials and equipment were exported to the Caspian littoral states and China.

"This year, 846 TEU containers were exported to China through the Caspian port, and 2,902 TEU containers were imported from China," he said.

There are three platforms in the Caspian port of Iran. Two more platforms are planned to be commissioned in the next two years.
