The main volume of Azerbaijan's dairy products from January through March 2020 was exported to Russia, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Milk and Dairy Products Producers and Exporters Association Samir Eyyubov told Trend.
“No changes in export volumes were observed from January through March 2020 compared to the same period of 2019,” the chairman added.
“The products were exported only to Russia from January through February 2020,” Eyyubov added. “Moreover, the Russian side is interested in increasing import of dairy products, but Azerbaijan has problems with raw materials, in particular with its cost, as a result of which the association cannot increase the export volumes and is unlikely to do so throughout 2020."
“The export volume is expected to reduce in 2020 due to the overpricing and limited production of raw materials,” the chairman said.
“If the feed is supplied on time and without raising prices, then the stable production of high-quality dairy products will continue,” Eyyubov added. “However, the prices for the main feed ingredients increase. And the higher this component is, the higher the cost of production is. If it goes according to this scenario, and this scenario is inevitable, I think that in the end it will affect the quality of the products."
The association supports the development of entrepreneurship in the field of milk and dairy products, applies new technologies in this sphere. Each legal entity and individual acting in the field of production of milk and dairy products, having provided the corresponding documents, may become a member of the association.
