Azerbaijan’s Gilan Textile Park has begun production of protective overalls and is preparing for the production of medical masks, Trend reports referring to Gilan Holding.
As the country's biggest textile company, GILAN TEKSTIL PARK LLC in a short period made changes to the production process, purchased the required raw materials and began production of protective overalls. The production of medical masks will be launched next week. Thus, the company will contribute to the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
The weekly production capacity of GILAN TEKSTIL PARK, which operates around the clock, is 30,000 protective overalls, as well as at least a million medical masks per week. The Tyvek® Classic Jumpsuit is designed to protect the user from viruses, infections, pathogens, products and processes that may cause a sensitive body reaction.
The production of medical masks will be carried out through a three-layer technology. Special three-layer materials used in the production of masks filter the air from viruses of various categories and sizes, infections as well as from dust and other dirty particles, thereby protecting people against the penetration of elements that can harm their health.
Up till now, the need of the domestic market for protective overalls and medical masks was ensured through import, but there was a shortage of products in the foreign countries due to the great demand because of COVID-19 pandemic.
As a result, meeting domestic demand through domestic production has become a necessity. In accordance with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s instruction, special raw materials and modern equipment necessary for the production were brought to the enterprise with the support of the corresponding state structures.
The production line is at the commissioning stage, said the company.
