BAKU, Azerbaijan, Apr. 14

By Matanat Nasibova – Trend:

The Azerbaijani plant producing sandwich panels plans to increase output of its products this year, a source in the plant, which is one of the residents of Sumgayit Technological Park (STP), told Trend.

According to the source, this year the plant is expected to be modernized, and there are plans to increase two types of sandwich panels.

"Currently, the Sumgayit Technology Park is producing sandwich panels under the STP panel brand name. It is planned to expand the production of two types of panels: with polyurethane filling and rock wool. By the end of this year, it’s planned to increase their production to 20-25 percent for export ", the source said.

The source noted that the sandwich panels manufactured by the plant have high quality and heat insulation, easy installation and dismantling, durability, high fire resistance, sound insulation and corrosion resistance. The materials are mainly used for construction of external walls, inner bulkheads, as well as for roofs.

Moreover, the plant also produces roofing panels, the advantage of which is a large number of ribs, which increase the load capacity of the panel and prevents its deformation.

Previously, the plant produced 10, 35, 110, 220 kV cables.

Since 2016, the enterprise has started the first-ever production of 500 kV cables in Azerbaijan’s industry.

The plant has been provided with the modern German equipment.

Sumgait Technologies Park commissioned in December 2009 is a complex of big plants specializing in various fields of production.

Being a unique project in the region, STP fully meets the demand in the domestic market and is capable to export a sufficient amount of products to the foreign market.

Presently, STP residents are 12 plants and more than 30 production sites provided with the latest technological equipment produced in Europe and Japan. Some 2,000 people work there.
