Iran's products export via Hormozgan province increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 2

Products export via customs of Hormozgan province in southern Iran increased by 56 percent in the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 19, 2020) compared to the same month of last Iranian year, said Abolfaz Akbarpour, customs inspector of the Hormozgan province, Trend reports referring to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

According to Akbarpour, 1.5 million tons of non-oil products worth $1.7 billion were exported in the reporting month.

Akbarpour added that products worth $1.1 billion were exported in the same month last year.

The official said that more than 6 million tons of products worth $16 billion were released from the customs of Hormozgan province in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 20, 2020).

About 65 percent of the products accounted for import, Akbarpour added.

"In the first month of current Iranian year, more than 500,000 tons of products worth about $600,000 were imported through the customs of Hormozgan province. Products import increased by 21 percent in terms of weight, compared to the same month last year," he said.
