TEHRAN, Iran, May. 13
Trend:
Trade between Iran and Germany in the last few months has been very limited, Abbas Ali Ghasaei, head of the Iran-Germany Chamber of Commerce, told Trend.
Pointing to the latest exchanges between Iran and Europe amid the coronavirus outbreak, Ghasaei said there are few medical exchanges going on through Switzerland, and these exchanges have nothing to do with Germany.
"In general, the German economy has stopped because of coronavirus," he said. Iran's economy is impacted, both by coronavirus and sanctions, and trade has been kept to a minimum level.”
He went on to add that there have been a few exchanges between the two countries, but the amount is small and the medical exchanges between the two countries are not significant.
He said the figure for the two countries' trade transactions this year was not high.
“Iran-Germany trade stood at $5-$6 billion in previous years,” he said.
