Turkmenistan launches pilot program to support start-ups

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3

A new pilot program envisaged to help create an ecosystem for startups has been launched in Turkmenistan on June 2, 2020, Trend reports with reference to Arzuw NEWS Information Portal.

The program is conducted by Union of Economists of Turkmenistan and was implemented with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

In order to implement the program, 6 mentoring business companies of Turkmenistan were involved. The mentioned companies provide services to accelerate the implementation of startups' ideas. It is planned to use the experience of Turkmen and international experts during the work with start-up teams, which each of the mentoring companies picks itself.

At the end of the program, it is planned to continue working with the most successful mentoring companies in order to further develop country’s innovative market.

The organizers of aforesaid project hope that such programs will increase the innovative potential of the Turkmen economy, improve conditions for the development of youth entrepreneurship and create new high-tech jobs.
