The share of small business and micro-firms in Uzbekistan's economy increased in the first quarter of 2020, Trend reports citing State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
The share of small business in Uzbekistan's GDP for the period from January to March 2020 amounted to 45.8 percent.
During the first quarter of 2020, 23,300 small businesses and micro-firms were established, which is 23.4 percent less than in the same period in 2019.
In the period from January through March 2019, small businesses accounted for 45.5 percent of the country's GDP.
The largest number of small businesses were established in trade - 9,312, industry - 4,345, agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 2,637, construction - 1,844, general catering and hotel business - 1,724, logistics - 659.
Tashkent accounts for the largest share of established companies. The total number of new small enterprises in the capital city was 4,460. As reported, 2,293 enterprises were established in Samarkand region and 2,244 in Tashkent region.
