BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 15

By Ilkin Seyfaddini – Trend:

Uzbek Ambassador to Poland Bahrom Babayev held a videoconference with the heads of Polish Wamatex, VIVE Textile Recycling, Dekoma, Bakkaland and Ewa Bis companies to discuss increasing exports to Poland, Trend reported citing Dunyo News Agency.

Poland is the second country in the EU (after France) for the volume of goods imported from Uzbekistan. In the period from January through May 2020, export volumes of Uzbek goods to this country amounted to $21.8 million, which is 112 percent more compared to the same period in 2019.

Export volumes of Uzbek textiles to Poland make up 40 percent of total exports of Uzbek textiles to the European Union countries.

"It is expected that in 2020 export volumes will reach $50 million," the message said.

Polish businessmen noted that the marketing analysis confirms that in the coming years, the Polish market will be intensively reconstructed and aimed at importing textile and fruit and vegetable products, including those produced in Uzbekistan.

At the end of the meeting, the heads of Polish companies confirmed their interest in setting up imports of Uzbek products and received data on Uzbek producers and exporters.
