As part of the agreement with General Motors, UzAuto Motors, which is a leader of Uzbek car industry, resumed car sales in Russia on June 15, 2020, Trend reports citing UzAuto Motors.
The first models available for Russian buyers will be Chevrolet Spark, Nexia and Cobalt.
Under the terms of agreements reached between General Motors and UzAuto Motors, these models are also sold in export markets in Belarus and Kazakhstan.
Earlier, the company said that sales of cars under the Ravon brand in Russia and CIS countries will stop by mid-2020.
Simultaneously with the start of sales, Keles Rus LLC (official distributor of UzAuto Motors on the Russian market) together with its partners launches a number of financial programs and support of trade-in (exchange of client's car for a new one), which will ensure purchase of the abovementioned Chevrolet models on preferential terms.
On April 28, 2020, UzAuto Motors jointly with its Kazakh partner SaryarkaAvtoProm LLP announced the start of Chevrolet cars sales in Kazakhstan.
In the period from January through April 2020, Uzbekistan produced 96,727 cars, which is 17,113 more than in the same period of 2019.
