Iran Khodro Industrial Group will manufacture 10,000 heavy trucks and other vehicles in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020), Executive Director of Iran Khodro Industrial Group Farshad Moghimi told journalists, Trend reports citing the company’s official website.
He made the remark after the signing of a contract on the manufacturing and delivery of buses and minibuses for the Tehran Mayor's Office.
The director said that Iran Khodro manufactured a total of 2,230 heavy trucks in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).
Moghimi noted that at the same time, there is a potential for the manufacturing of 5,500 buses.
“Today, a contract was signed with the Tehran Mayor's Office on the manufacturing and delivery of 800 buses and minibuses and these vehicles will be delivered within 5 months,” he said.
Moghimi stressed that the vehicles will meet the minimum standard of euro 4 for diesel fuel consumption and euro 6 for gas consumption.
Moghimi added that as part of the renovation of vehicles of the Tehran Mayor's Office, 250 vehicles (120 buses, 130 minibuses) were manufactured. The vehicles will be delivered next month.
"Iran Khodro Industrial Group is ready to manufacture electric buses for the Tehran Mayor's Office," he said.
