Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and head of the local representative office of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Fatih Turkmenoglu discussed strengthening material and technical base in the country to support local small and medium-sized businesses, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The discussions were held at the MFA of Turkmenistan on June 23, 2020.
The parties considered the further development of cooperation in various fields, as well as conducting business consultations, where the private sector of Turkmenistan will participate.
The participants also reviewed the projects in the field of energy and transport, support for the private sector and others, where EBRD is involved.
Thus, the development of long-term and effective cooperation in various spheres between Turkmenistan and the EBRD was emphasized. In this regard, the importance of constructive partnership within the framework of the EBRD country strategy for Turkmenistan for the period from 2019 through 2024 was noted.
Earlier, the EBRD allocated a loan to Turkmenistan's Ak-hunji company, which is engaged in the production of building materials.
