South Korean companies can develop activities in certain economic sectors of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The issue was discussed during a videoconference between the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Korean commission on trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation.
The parties discussed issues of cooperation in the field of energy, textile industry, shipbuilding and digital technologies.
In particular, South Korean companies that participate in the construction and modernization of petrochemical complexes, can develop their activities in Turkmenistan, said the report.
The sides also discussed the issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this regard, the timeliness and effectiveness of mutual actions taken in this context was noted.
On February 22, 2019, the 7th meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Korean Commission on trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation was held in Seoul.
During last year's meeting, the prospects of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea were also discussed.
