Azerbaijan’s Gabala Canning Factory reveals export plans for this year

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 8

The Gabala Canning Factory, the biggest producer of canned fruits and vegetables operating in Azerbaijan, intends to export the products to many more countries and is establishing new supply routes to the countries of near and far abroad, chief export manager of the factory Said Namazov told Trend.

“The factory practically has not stopped to export the products during the quarantine regime imposed due to the threat of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic,” the chief export manager added.

“The factory suspended the activity in March for a short period of time, but it resumed the export abroad in April,” Namazov added. “The products are supplied every week via various routes and are mainly exported to Russia, Central Asian countries, as well as to Europe.”

“The products are expected to be supplied to Germany and Iraq this week,” the chief export manager said. “Besides these countries, our products are also exported to France. Jale and Zolotoy Sad pomegranate juices, fruit juices, lemonade and narsharab (pomegranate sauce) are exported."

“The factory sends 40 tons of the products via various routes every week,” the chief export manager added. “Currently, the factory is looking for new partners for export the products.”

About 15 percent of products are sold on the domestic market. The prices for juices within the country range from 1.60 manat (94 cents) to two manat ($1.2). The export prices are slightly higher.

The products have a certificate of conformity issued by the Azerbaijani State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents.

The German, Turkish and Swiss equipment is used in the factory.
