Iran discloses value of exports from Ardabil Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 15

Products worth $32.6 million were exported from Ardabil Province in northwestern Iran during the first three months of the current year (March 20-June 20, 2020), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Ardabil Province Ramin Sadeghi said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

According to the chairman, the exports increased by 6 percent in terms of value compared to the same period last Iranian year.

He added that the province mainly exported potatoes, rubber products, propylene, mining, construction materials and mineral water.

"These products are mainly exported to Azerbaijan, Iraq, Georgia, the UAE and Vietnam," Sadeghi said.

The chairman noted the possibility to increase production, export and employment in the province by importing the equipment needed by industrial enterprises.

Sadeghi added that 850,000 tons of potatoes are expected to be harvested in Iran's Ardabil Province in the current Iranian year, and of this volume, 400,000 tons can be exported.

Currently, consultations are underway to obtain the necessary licenses for exporting potatoes, he said.
