Turkey remains main importer of flours, meals, pellets from Georgia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 23

Georgia exported 6,977 tons of flours, meals and pellets, totaling $9.08 million to Turkey from January through June 2020, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

On an annualized basis, Georgia increased the products' export to Turkey by 4,103 tons.

Over the same period last year, 2,874 tons of flours, meals and pellets were exported by Georgia to Turkey for a total amount of $3.9 million.

From January through June 2020, Georgia exported 5,604 tons of fats and oils and their fractions, of fish or marine mammals, totaling $9.3 million to Turkey.

On an annualized basis, Georgia increased the products' export to Turkey by 4,372 tons.

Over the same period last year, 1,232 tons of fats and oils were exported by Georgia to Turkey for a total amount of $2.1 million.

From January through June 2020, total imports from Turkey to Georgia amounted to $595.2 million. In turn, Georgia exported goods worth $102.2 million to Turkey.

The foreign trade turnover of Georgia with Turkey in the reporting period exceeded $697.4 million, which is 13.8 percent of Georgia's total trade turnover.
