Copper ores extraction plummets in Kazakhstan in 1H2020

Production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan has amounted to 17.1 million tons in 1H2020, which is 7.8 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

According to the data, iron ores production amounted to 3.3 million tons in June 2020, which is 9.1 percent less than in June 2019.

Production of copper ores dropped by 14.1 percent during the reporting months having amounted to 51.8 million tons (6.8 million tons in June 2020, drop by 44.9 percent compared to June 2019).

Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 3.6 million tons during the reporting period, which indicates an increase by 52.7 percent compared to the same period of last year. The production volume of zinc and copper ores was 590,800 tons in June 2020, which is 26.8 percent more than in June 2019.

Production of gold ores amounted to 11.3 million tons over the reporting period, which is 1.2 percent less than during the same period of 2019. The volume of gold ores produced in June 2020 was 1.9 million tons, which is 5.4 percent less than in June 2019.

Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 3.2 million tons, which is 2.5 percent more than during the same period of 2019 (474,200 tons in June 2020, decrease by 21.6 percent compared to June 2019).

As reported, production of manganese ores amounted to 312,400 tons, which is 53.9 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (52,300 tons in June 2020, increase by 16.9 percent compared to June 2019).

Production of chrome ores amounted to 3.2 million tons, which is 7.9 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (551,100 tons in June 2020, decrease by 8.2 percent compared to June 2019).
