Uzbekistan's Kuramakorabayirlari LLC has purchased 61 heads of Angus cattle from the Netherlands, Trend reports with reference to Uzbekistan National News Agency.
By the end of August 2020, the company plans to purchase another 429 heads of cattle.
"The total value of our project is 41.5 billion soum [$4 million]. The cattle will be kept in the cattle-breeding complex, and production enterprises will be built. We plan to establish annual production of 9,000 tons of milk and 86 tons of meat," the report says.
The construction work has been completed by 30 percent. About 40 new jobs have been created, and with the project completion, the number of employees will exceed 80.
Under the project, it is planned to bring the total number of pedigree cattle to 1,000 heads by the end of the year.
In addition, 17 cattle complexes, 13 complexes for sheep and goats will be set up in Ahangaran district in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan on development of livestock breeding in Ahangaran district of Tashkent region in the period from 2019 through 2021.
