Lebap and Balkan regions of Turkmenistan are preparing for the cotton harvest, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.
Special equipment and machinery for cotton harvesting have already been prepared in the Lebap region of Turkmenistan. In particular, 1,400 units will be used during the harvest.
Eleven cotton gins have already been provided to receive the collected cotton in the region.
The country’s Balkan region is also preparing for the upcoming harvesting period. Cotton in will be collected from 10,000 hectares in the region.
As reported, Turkmenistan is conducting different tests in order to evaluate new varieties of cotton.
The process of seasonal agricultural work is closely monitored in the country to ensure high quality of the areas for sowing cotton and other crops.
The cotton growing is one of the leading branches of the agro-industrial sector of Turkmenistan.
In order to increase the efficiency of the agricultural sector, Turkmenistan purchases equipment of the latest modifications that is best suited to the soil and climate conditions of the country. Work is underway to digitalize agriculture and introduce advanced agricultural technologies in the country.
