Uzbekistan increases production of consumer goods

Andijan region and Tashkent city produced 42.8 percent of Uzbekistan's industrial consumer goods in the first seven months of 2020, Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

The volume of production of consumer goods by industrial enterprises of Andijan region exceeded 15.2 trillion soum ($1.4 billion) and in Tashkent - 12.4 trillion soum ($1.2 billion).

Andijan region (23.7 percent of the total volume of consumer goods), Tashkent city (19.4 percent), Tashkent region (11 percent), Samarkand region (8.6 percent) and Fergana region (6.2 percent) account for the largest share in the structure of production of consumer goods in the country.

As a result of taken measures to expand production, Uzbekistan produced consumer goods in the amount of 64.5 trillion soum ($6.2 billion) and, compared to the same period in 2019, increased production by 1.7 percent.

Official statistics recorded that 77,100 industrial enterprises operate in Uzbekistan for today, of which 15,100 (19.6 percent of the total number of operating enterprises) are in Tashkent city; 8,100 (10.5 percent) in Fergana; 8,100 (10.5 percent) in Tashkent; 7,900 (10.3 percent) in Andijan; 6,400 (8.3 percent) in Samarkand; and 6,000 (7.8 percent) in Namangan regions.
