The retail trade turnover of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies in Azerbaijan totaled 383.3 million manat ($225.4 million) from January through July 2020, having risen by 38.7 percent compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing the report of the State Statistical Committee.
The committee noted that this indicator was 276.1 million manat ($162.4 million) in 2019.
The share of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies in the total trade turnover of the country reached 1.8 percent, said the committee.
Reportedly, during the first seven months of 2020, the production of the major products in the pharmaceutical industry of Azerbaijan, in particular drugs of the antibiotic group, totaled 14,500 manat ($8,529), and other drugs – 449,200 manat ($264,235).
