Embassy: Georgian-Turkish partnership stays comprehensive and promising

Turkey and Georgia are strategic partners and this partnership is reflected in economic and commercial relations, which are comprehensive and promising, Turkish Embassy in Georgia told Trend.

"Not only do two countries have significant volume in the trade of goods but also there are well-established networks and investments in the sectors of trade in services, energy, labor market, manufacturing industry, and construction," the embassy noted.

As the embassy said, Turkish investments in Georgia exceeds $1.8 billion of total cumulative investment.

"Turkish companies that produce energy, textile, glassware, beverage, and many more products contribute to Georgian exports," the embassy said.

According to the embassy, there are also tourism facilities including hotels and restaurants that are owned and/or operated by Turkish investors in Georgia.

Meanwhile, from January through June 2020, total imports from Turkey to Georgia amounted to $595.2 million. In turn, Georgia exported goods worth $102.2 million to Turkey.

The foreign trade turnover between Georgia and Turkey exceeded $697.4 million during the reporting period, which equals to 13.8 percent of Georgia's total trade turnover.
