Georgia has exported 23,109 tons of peaches and nectarines as of August 25 which is 85 percent increase in comparison to same period of last year, Trend reports via the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia.
As reported, during the same period of last year, Georgia exported 12,556 tons of peaches and nectarines.
Georgian peaches and nectarines were mainly exported to: Russia - 14,906 tons, Azerbaijan - 567 tons, Kazakhstan - 112.9 tons, Ukraine - 99 tons, Moldova - 89.6 tons, Poland - 74 tons, Slovenia - 57.3 tons, Singapore - 0.04 tons.
Last year Georgia exported 13,256 peaches and nectarines to the following countries: Russia - 10,777 tons, Azerbaijan - 667 tons, Ukraine - 150 tons, Kazakhstan - 114 tons, Slovenia - 78 tons, Iraq - 39 tonnes, Iran - 20 tons, Moldova - 19 tons, Belarus - 18 tons, Qatar - 0.4 tons.
There are 11 fruit processing factories operating in Georgia with the co-financing of the ministry of agriculture.
