Kazakhstan exports to CIS decrease amid COVID-19

The value of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and other CIS countries amounted to $10.9 billion over 1H2020, compared to $12.5 billion during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The share of other CIS countries in the total value of Kazakhstan’s trade turnover stood at 25.8 percent during the reporting period compared to 27.2 percent during the same period of 2019.

Kazakhstan’s export to other CIS countries amounted to $3.9 billion over the period from January through June 2020, compared to $4.9 billion during the same period of 2019.

Other CIS countries’ share in the total volume of Kazakhstan’s export also amounted to 15.2 percent during the reporting period of 2020 compared to 17.2 percent during the same period of 2019.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s imports from other CIS countries stood at about $7 billion over the reporting period, compared to $7.6 billion during the same period of 2019.

Other CIS countries’ share in the total volume of Kazakhstan’s import amounted to 42.4 percent during the reporting period of 2020 compared to less than 43.5 percent during the same period of 2019.

The total volume of Kazakhstan’s trade turnover amounted to $42.5 billion over the period from Jan. through June 2020 which indicates a decrease from $46.1 billion during the same period of 2019.

Kazakhstan’s export amounted to $26 billion during the reporting period of 2020 ($28.6 billion in the same period of 2019), whereas imports amounted to $16.5 billion ($17.5 billion in 2019).
