Iran reveals exports value of mining sector

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 21

Iran exported 58 million tons of products worth $8.49 billion in mining sector in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, the value of steel products exports amounted $4.5 billion in the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 7 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019).

“In addition, 986 million worth of steel products were imported in the last Iranian year and this is a decrease of 23 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year,” the report said.

According to the report, the value of copper products exports amounted to $1.24 billion in the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 35 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year.

“At the same time, the imports of copper products decreased 3 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year and amounted $16.8 million,” the report added.

The exports of zinc products amounted $301 million in the last Iranian year and this is an increase of 18 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year, the report noted.

According to the report, the value of alumina powder exports was $387,000 in the last Iranian year which is an increase of 144 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year.
