Iran discloses number of small mines restored

The activities of 86 small mines were restored in Iran during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020), said Abbas Naimi, Deputy Chairman of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), Trend reports citing IMIDRO.

According to the deputy chairman, the exploration operations were carried out on 660 small mines and as well as the restoring work on 150 small mines in Iran’s 31 provinces over 6 months.

“In total, the exploration operations were carried out on 2,790 small mines and the restoring work on 1,170 small mines in Iran so far,” Naimi noted.

The deputy chairman stressed the last steps have been taken to restore 200 mines, so far.

Iran has about 60 billion tons of mining reserves. About 40 billion tons of it can be extracted.
