Iran to tackle tax evasion

The Iranian National Tax Administration has issued a list of 12 organizations that failed to cooperate with their taxation authorities, said the deputy Iranian National Tax Administration.

"Ansar Bank, Hekmat Iranian Bank, Ghavamin Bank, Communications Regulatory Authority, Chamber of Guilds, Mobile Telecommunication Company of Iran, Irancell, the office of deputies of the Ministry of Cooperatives labor and social welfare and the office of the deputy minister of Health in Treatment Affairs were among companies that did not cooperate, said Hadi Khani, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

"From a total of 88 organizations, 44 of them cooperated with the Iranian National Tax Administration whereas 12 organizations did not cooperate, while 33 organizations have promised to cooperate and we would not release their names at the moment until they provide their data," he said.

"We have corresponded with the General Inspection Organization of Iran, the Supreme Audit Court of Iran, and the treasury to deal with the following 12 organizations," he noted.

"The three banks of Ansar, Hekmat Iranian and Ghavamin have been merged into Sepah Bank which will come under the scrutiny of the authorities," he added.

"So far 40 percent of data does not have sufficient quality, there are some organizations that have not provided their tax data," he said.
