French Association for Earthquake Engineering (AFPS) has sent an official letter to Kazakh Research and Design Institute for Seismic Construction and Architecture (KazSRICA) on cooperation proposal, Trend reports citing the Institute.

Pierre Sollogoub who is an Honorary President of AFPS invited Yeraly Shokbarov, Managing Director for Production of KazNIISA JSC to participate in joint projects in the field of earthquake-resistant construction.

The cooperation framework oversees that the parties will exchange experience on ensuring seismic safety of buildings and structures, study and apply new construction technologies, conduct joint training of young specialists, and organize joint theoretical and practical research.

In July 2020, Kazakhstan joined the International Association for Earthquake Engineering (IAEE). In this regard, Yeraly Shokbarov was awarded the title of IAEE National Delegate from Kazakhstan.

Recently, KazSRICA and JSSI have also agreed on holding joint scientific research projects.

According to KazSRICA, the institute is interested in studying the expertise of specialists of JSSI in the area of using new materials and structures in seismic-resistant construction, including providing the building with seismic resistance.

KazSRICA is the only state scientific research and design institute of construction and architecture in the field of effective development of complex construction in Kazakhstan, including areas with particularly complex engineering and geological conditions and regions prone to earthquakes. The Institute was established in September of 1931.
