Turkmenistan’s Ferkhar company has started harvesting bananas grown in a greenhouse, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.

Some 60 tons of tropical fruit are planned to be collected from 2,000 banana trees planted on 1 hectare of land this year.

First harvest of bananas was held last year in the same greenhouse, where almost 50 tons of bananas were collected.

The greenhouse is planting the 'Grand Nain' variety of bananas. So, from one tree with 6-meter length, 40-45 kilograms of bananas are collected daily.

First harvest of bananas was held last year in the same greenhouse, where almost 50 tons of bananas were collected.

There are other exotic fruits growing in Turkmenistan. For example, in the greenhouse of the Turkmen Agricultural University, fruits of exotic papaya were cultivated.
