Value of goods exported via Iran's West Azerbaijan Province announced

A total of 572,000 tons of goods worth $998 million were exported through the customs of the West Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran), during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020), Supervisor of West Azerbaijan Customs Office Tohid Azarbod said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.

Azarbod noted that the exports through the customs of province increased by 18 percent in terms of volume and 11 percent in terms of value for 6 months compared to the same period of the last Iranian year.

“The exported goods were mainly cement, metal, fittings, food products, industrial products, dairy products, household appliances, fruits and factory carpets,” he added.

The official stressed the goods were mainly exported to Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Germany, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, China, Qatar, Georgia and other countries.

Azarbod said that 152,000 tons of goods worth $264 million were imported through the customs and border markets of the province during the reporting period.

According to the official, the imports through customs of province decreased by 47 percent in terms of volume and 36 percent in terms of value compared to the same period last Iranian year.
